| The Studio Papillon Philosophy....
Thank you for visiting our website and inviting us to bring music lessons into your home. Many parents ask at what age their children may start lessons. The answer depends on the instrument. For very young children of 4 and 5 years, we recommend starting with piano lessons to develop proper motor skills, rhythm and even the ability to begin reading music.
How does a parent assess a child's interest? In our opinion, if a child is experimenting with sound and carefully listening to the sounds they create at the piano or another instrument, he or she is demonstrating genuine interest and enthusiasm for music. It is a gift to see their eyes light up as they discover more about music at this tender age. My favorite students, in fact, are the little ones, who are so excited for their lessons every week and so very proud of their achievements.
Our approach is nurturing and flexible. That said, we do implement certain standards to ensure that students learn proper technique, theory and musicianship. We also like to provide a structure to help our students practice, which will enable them to play music accurately and beautifully.
We are pleased to work with beginners as well as advanced musicians. Overall, our goal is to bring warmth and joy into your home through music.
