Amber Dutton Hanlon
Voice, Guitar, Flute

Amber Hanlon is both a musician and educator.  As a North Carolina Teaching Fellow, she earned a BM in Music Performance and  a MA in Teaching (music education concentration) at UNC-Chapel Hill, having studied classical flute, voice, and piano.    She then taught middle school band, chorus and orchestra in Chapel Hill, earning her National Board Certification her final year.

As a musician, Amber currently performs as a singer/songwriter, as well as rock star!  ;-)  She has studied guitar and voice after graduating college and continues to learn as she goes.  As a private lesson instructor, she is energetic and positive- giving honest accurate feedback while enjoying the discovery and development of each student’s musical talent.  Combining her music education background with her performance experience, Amber is able to offer lessons that incorporate theory, performance skills, self expression, technique and a true passion for music.  She looks forward to meeting you!

Stephanie Kruskol Batchelder, Soprano
Piano and Voice

Soprano Stephanie Kruskol Batchelder received her Master’s degree in Vocal Performance at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, Maryland, studying in the studio of Steven Rainbolt. At the young age of twelve, her passion for musical stage performance was sparked when she played the role of Mary Lennox in an intensive, fourteen-performance summer stock production of The Secret Garden at the Papermill Theatre in Lincoln, NH. “It is easy to fall in love with Stephanie Kruskol, who in her role as Mary is a total delight… she perfectly captures Mary’s willful, headstrong, irrepressible personality,” wrote Ruth Bossie of the Littleton Courier. Since then, she has sung solo vocals for television ads for Public Service of New Hampshire, and received numerous awards within the state, including reaching the finals for several NATS competitions in her division. She studied voice with Peggo Horstmann-Hodes at the Concord Community Music School in Concord, NH, where she also studied piano with Peggy Senter and Heather Forsha for twelve years. After a year at Plymouth State University, where she studied vocal performance with Kathleen Arecchi, she was awarded a four-year merit scholarship to study at the Peabody Conservatory. She received her BM in Voice Performance at Peabody under the instruction of Dr. Stanley Cornett in 2009. She was a finalist in the 2008 Capital Region Opera Idol competition, and thenceforth was awarded the role of Mabel in the Lakes Region Opera Company’s 2009 production of Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Pirates of Penzance. In December 2009, she was the soprano soloist in the world premiere of Jerry Ascione’s piece entitled One Hundred Eighty Seven with the New England Wind Symphony. Roles with the Peabody Opera Theater include Flora in Britten’s The Turn of the Screw, the Frog in Janacek’s The Adventures of Vixen Sharp-Ears, Gretel in Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel, and Despina in Mozart’s Così fan tutte.

Rameen Chaharbaghi, Voice and Piano

Rameen Chaharbaghi
Voice and Piano

Rameen Chaharbaghi is an avid singer, actor and teacher in the greater D.C.-metropolitan area.  He has been singing for ten years, and enjoys performing and teaching a wide variety of genres including opera, musical theater, jazz, and pop music.  As an instrumentalist, Rameen plays piano, flute, oboe, and guitar.  In his performances, he is frequently praised for his expressiveness and his confidence, two traits he strives to instill in his students.

Rameen received his Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Maryland, where he studied with renowned vocal pedagogue Martha Randall.  Recently, he completed the Advanced Artist Program with OperaWorks, an innovative opera training program located in Los Angeles.  In both of these programs, Rameen learned to take an individualized, dynamic approach to teaching privately.  He believes in teaching the entire performer, and focuses not only on technique, but also on expression, style, stage presence, and even performance business.  Teaching techniques Rameen employs include differentiated learning based on student learning style, instructional scaffolding, and even strategies from yoga, Alexander technique, and theater.  Most importantly, Rameen believes in the power of music to change audiences and empower students through the medium of sound.
